Material Library
The questions are designed to provide insight into how students typically think, feel, and behave. Integrated into the app, the tool helps create a personalised content library for each student, guiding them toward mindfulness activities that can effectively support their everyday well-being.
The guidelines are designed to help teachers implement the WellbeingInSchools curriculum and learning materials. They are designed to facilitate a classroom implementation that is inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their specific needs or abilities. The foundation of these guidelines is the STEP adaptation methodology, a well-established framework that has been successfully implemented across many different countries and types of activities.
The STEP methodology provides a simple yet effective framework for making changes to activities so that everyone can be included and participate together. Using this tool, teachers can ensure that all students experience the benefits of mindfulness practices.
This curricular document provides a brief overview of the educational program for implementing mindfulness practices in the lower secondary educational level (ISCED 2) in five countries (CZ, SK, EL, IE, FI) within the project of Wellbeing in Schools. The Wellbeing in Schools mindfulness curriculum addresses the growing need for social-emotional support and mental resilience among adolescents. By integrating short daily practices and dedicated lessons into the school routine, the program aims to foster inner awareness, self-regulation, and healthier relationships, ultimately creating a more supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The video animations introduce key mindfulness concepts in a youth-friendly and engaging way, using relatable characters and everyday situations that students can easily identify with. Through simple storytelling and accessible visuals, they explore topics such as emotional awareness, stress management, self-compassion, and focus, helping students understand how mindfulness can support them in school and in their personal lives.
The audio recordings provide guided mindfulness practices designed to support students in developing calmness, concentration, and emotional balance. Available in different durations (7, 4, and 2 minutes), they offer flexibility for use both in the classroom and at home. Some recordings can also be used as “first-aid” support in challenging moments, helping students manage situations such as stress, anxiety, conflict, or feeling overwhelmed. Through breathing exercises, grounding techniques, body awareness, and self-kindness practices, students are encouraged to pause, reflect, and gradually integrate mindfulness into their daily routine.
The in-classroom activities are designed to help students explore mindfulness through guided, practical experiences within the school setting. Integrated into regular lessons or dedicated wellbeing sessions, these activities encourage students to develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and focus through reflection, discussion and interactive exercises. Their purpose is to support students in applying mindfulness techniques to everyday school situations, creating a more positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
The out-of-classroom activities extend mindfulness practice beyond the classroom, encouraging students to apply what they have learned in their daily lives. Through simple individual exercises, reflection tasks, and personal challenges, students are supported in building healthy habits, strengthening emotional resilience, and recognising how mindfulness can help them manage real-life situations such as stress, conflict, or overwhelming emotions. These activities promote continuity, helping students make mindfulness part of their everyday routine.
