Objective: To help students feel grounded and stable by using the image of a strong oak tree as a metaphor for inner strength and resilience.
Instructions:
1. Close your eyes if you feel comfortable and imagine an old, big oak tree. It stands firmly in its place, deeply rooted in the ground. Storms come and go, winds shake its branches, but the tree remains strong and steady. It does not take the weather personally—it stays rooted, focused, and present.
2. Now imagine that you are the oak tree. Picture your feet growing deep roots into the earth so nothing can uproot you. Visualize storms, winds, and thunder raging around you without disturbing your strength.
3. Notice how it feels to be solid and strong, powerfully positioned. Allow yourself to relax and enjoy being right where you are.
Reflection Questions:
1. Did you manage to feel the power of the oak tree?
2. Do you know someone—either in your life or in history—who could withstand many storms?
3. How did they manage to stay strong?
4. What could be the “storms and winds” in your everyday life?
