Objective: To practice mindfulness during a simple daily action—drinking—by focusing on sensory details and noticing how the body feels.
Instructions:
1. When you drink water or juice or anything else, pause for a moment before taking a sip.
2. Look at the drink and notice its color and clarity.
3. Take a slow sip and pay attention to the taste, temperature, and texture as you swallow.
4. After swallowing, notice how your body feels—any changes in your mouth, throat, or overall sense of refreshment.
5. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to the sensations of drinking.
Optional Reflection:
1. What did you notice about the taste and temperature of your drink?
2. Was it easy or hard to stay focused on the sip?
3. Did slowing down change how the drink tasted or felt?
4. How did your body feel after drinking mindfully compared to drinking normally?
