Objective: To help students recognize that everyone experiences challenges and that imperfection is part of being human—building empathy and a sense of belonging.
Instructions:
1. Begin with three slow breaths in and out.
2. Say: “Let’s remember that everyone—friends, teachers, families—has good days and hard days.”
Guide a short visualization:
1. Imagine someone your age having a hard time today.
2. Imagine yourself also having a hard time sometimes.
3. Notice that both of you want to be happy and safe.
Silently repeat:
1. “Just like me, others feel sad sometimes.”
2. “Just like me, others want to feel loved.”
3. “Just like me, others are trying their best.”
4. Take one deep breath together before ending.
Reflection Questions:
1. How did it feel to think, “Just like me”?
2. Did this change how you view others—or yourself?
3. What emotions came up during the visualization?
4. How does remembering shared struggles make kindness easier?
5. How might you treat classmates differently after this activity?
