Objective: To help students focus attention in one direction, reduce distractions, and relax through a fun, movement-based exercise that also supports brain activation and coordination.
Instructions:
1. Stand in a circle with the group.
2. One hand represents a rabbit (make a rabbit hand gesture ), and the other represents a gun (make a gun hand gesture ).
3. Alternate these gestures: first, one hand points the gun at the rabbit, then switch so the rabbit becomes the gun and points at the other hand.
4. Play rhythmic music that gradually speeds up (e.g., Wellerman by Nathan Evans) while everyone practices together.
5. Start slowly, then increase speed to make it more challenging.
6. It’s okay to make mistakes—just correct them and keep going.
7. Continue for about 2 minutes, then pause for reflection.
Reflection Questions:
1. Did you enjoy this exercise? (Thumb up if yes, down if no, horizontal if neutral)
2. Was it difficult to get it right? (Thumb up if yes, down if no, horizontal if so-so)
3. What exactly was difficult?
4. Was your mind filled with other thoughts while doing the exercise?
5. And what can you take from this into school and exams?
