Objective: To help students identify their most challenging situations and connect them with mindfulness practices they can use—creating a shared visual “toolbox” for the class.
Instructions:
1. Give each student 6 sticky notes at the start.
2. On three notes, write situations where you often feel stressed or need calm (e.g., before a test, can’t sleep, feeling angry, phone buzzing).
3. On the other three notes, write mindfulness practices you liked most from previous lessons (e.g., Box Breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 Sensory Reset, Gratitude Pause, One Breath Before Check).
4. Stick the situation notes on Flipchart 1: “Challenging Situations.”
5. Stick the practice notes on Flipchart 2: “Mindfulness Tools.”
6. When you stick each practice note, draw a line connecting it to a situation that fits best.
7. You can connect it to your own situation or someone else’s—whatever makes sense to you.
Reflection Questions:
1. Which situation feels most important for you to have a tool for?
2. Which tool do you think will help you the most?
3. Did you notice any new ideas from other students’ choices?
4. How could you remember to use these tools when you need them?
