Project Description
A growing body of scientific evidence highlights the critical role of emotional well-being, resilience and social-emotional learning in shaping both educational and life outcomes. Mindfulness-based interventions (MBI) have been shown to significantly improve various aspects of cognitive function, emotional regulation, and overall well-being in both students and teachers.
Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of these practices in improving executive function, memory, attention, and socio-emotional skills such as stress management, social engagement, and self-esteem. In recent years, students have faced psychological challenges in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the ongoing effects of the war in Ukraine, particularly in Central Europe.
These events have exacerbated stressors such as anxiety, depression and attention problems in young people. By integrating MBI practices into the school environment and training the teachers in their use, the “WellbeingInSchools” Erasmus+ KA2 project promotes mental and emotional health, improves academic performance and creates a more supportive learning environment.

Project Influence
The aim of the “WellbeingInSchools” project is to improve the emotional wellbeing and resilience of both students and teachers through the development and implementation of Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI) resources. The project focuses on training teachers to effectively integrate MBI practices included in the MBI Toolkit and MBI Mobile App.
These practices not only reduce teacher stress and burnout, but also contribute to the well-being of students, including those diagnosed with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), improve social-emotional learning, and create a more nurturing and productive educational experience.
