Welcome to Mindzy! At InnovationHive, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe, secure environment for our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Mindzy mobile application.

Mindzy is designed for students (ages 11–15) and teachers to practice mindfulness, build focus, and manage stress. We believe that your data belongs to you, and we strictly limit the data we collect to what is necessary to make the app work properly.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a personalized mindfulness experience, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you create an account using Email, Google, or Apple, we collect your email address, display name, and a unique user ID.

  • Questionnaire Data: To personalize your learning path, we collect your answers to our onboarding questionnaire regarding your focus, emotions, and stress levels.

  • Wellbeing & Mood Data: We collect your daily check-in responses (the “How are you feeling right now?” emoji tracker) to calculate your overall mood over time.

  • App Usage & Progress: We track the mindfulness sessions you complete, the total minutes you practice, your current daily streak, and your earned achievement badges.

  • Classroom Data: For teachers creating virtual classrooms, we collect the generated class codes. For students, we track which class codes you have joined to grant you access to shared materials.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly to operate and improve the Mindzy app. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Create and secure your user account.

  • Personalize your “Recommended for You” learning path based on your questionnaire goals (e.g., “Focus Better” or “Chill and Recharge”).

  • Display your personal progress, stats, and mood history on your Profile page.

  • Allow teachers and students to connect securely via Classroom codes.

  • Identify and fix technical bugs within the app.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

3. Third-Party Services

To operate the app securely, we use trusted third-party service providers. These providers only process data on our behalf and are bound by strict security and privacy standards:

  • Google Firebase: We use Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication) to securely store your profile data, progress, and login credentials.

  • Authentication Providers: If you choose to sign in using Google or Apple, those services will authenticate your identity and share your basic profile info (name and email) with us to create your Mindzy account.

4. Children’s Privacy

Mindzy is intended for use by young people (aged 11–15) under the guidance of schools or parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of digital consent (which varies by region, typically 13 to 16) without verified parental or institutional (school) consent. If you are a parent, guardian, or teacher and believe we have collected unauthorized data from a child, please contact us immediately so we can delete the account.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to control your personal data. You can:

  • Access your data: View your progress, mood history, and account details directly within the Profile tab.

  • Modify your data: You can retake the Questionnaire at any time from the Profile page to update your preferences.

  • Delete your data (Right to Erasure): You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data. You can do this by contacting us at the email provided below.

  • Withdraw consent: You can sign out of the app or revoke Google/Apple sign-in permissions from your device settings at any time.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including data encryption provided by Google Firebase, to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no digital platform is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through an in-app alert or via email before the changes take effect.
